this is exactly what i love about copywriting. (copycommunicating?)
it's thoughtful writing. creativity and psychology combined.

a few highlights:

at 1:26, when asked "What qualities do you look for in creative people?", his answer,
"a deep insight into human nature. . .the real basis for persuasion is to understand what motivates a man."

"you don't persuade people through the intellect. you do it through the passions." Bernbach quoting Aristotle.

so i'm working on some interactive youtube ad ideas for Frisk Mints.
here's what they've done recently in the form of Japanese TV spots:



i'm not sure how i feel about linking a mint to ideas - though it does go with the tag, "sharpens you up". and maybe if i was fluent in japanese, it would make complete sense.

anyway, i think i'll likely play with the name (no "getting frisky" or anything like that though), and maybe the packaging, too, which is quite original, dispensing just one little mint at time.

i do like this spot from 2007 though.
